The first multi congress in Serbia completed

The first multi congress in Serbia – Serbian Visions, took place during the weekend on the 16th and 17th of May 2015, at the Radisson Blu Old Mill Hotel. A massive weekend happening, the multi congress had 60 two hour long presentations and attracted over a thousand visitors. The participants of the event took advantage of the opportunity to present their organizations’ activities, their projects, ideas, visions and topics they advocate, as well as to demonstrate what they can and could do, what their current needs are, etc. Apart from connecting the audience with their target group, the event offered an environment where ideas could flow freely between presenters, audience, and the citizens active in civilian organizations.

We would especially like to thank Radisson Blu Old Mill Hotel, our member, for a huge support they provided in implementing this project. Our thanks also go to our members-participants, for their sponsorship and participation, which made this event happen, for the first time in Belgrade.

As the organizing team we would like to thank our partner of this event, the Serbian Chamber of Commerce, and the Deputy Prime Minister Ms.Kori Udovicki.

We are grateful to all NGOs and other organizations for their cooperation and the effort invested in the project.

A special ‘’thank you’’ goes to the media, who recognized the significance of a novelty such as this happening in Serbia.

Grand opening of the first multi congress in Serbia – “Serbian Visions”

During the grand opening of the first multi congress in Serbia – Serbian Visions, held at Radisson Blu Old Mill Hotel, numerous representatives of various NGOs and economic sector were greeted by the Vice-President of Serbian Government and Minister of Public Administration and Local Self-Government Ms.Kori Udovicki, the President of German-Serbian Business Association Dr. Ronald Seeliger, and the President of Serbian Chamber of Commerce Mr. Marko Cadez.

’’Serbia cannot be changed by the government’s efforts alone, it needs the creativity and initiative of its citizens”, said the Vice-President of Serbian Government Ms.Kori Udovicki. Dr. Ronald Seeliger stated that a citizen-initiated congress can only add to the development of society, and that a country’s economy cannot be analyzed in a vacuum, but only as a part of society. He reminded that in Germany, with the population of 80 million, circa 20 million citizens have organized themselves into approximately 600.000 NGOs, which now represent a professional branch of their own.

An unusual concept of assembling both the civilian and economic sector in one place, Serbian Visions is of a great importance in strengthening civilian initiatives and improving business environment, the President of Serbian Chamber of Commerce Mr. Marko Cadez pointed out.

Apart from learning about diverse ideas, discussing latest societal topics, exchanging experience, and being introduced to new projects, citizens are able to inform themselves about franchising, starting their own small businesses, and also learn about the difficulties the minority groups face.

The first multi congress of its kind in Serbia takes place during the whole weekend at Radisson Blu Old Mill Hotel in Belgrade, just across the street from the Belgrade Fair. The schedule detailing all of the 60 events can be found on the internet, at: http://www.serbian-visions.rs. All citizens are welcome. The entrance is free of charge.
